Neo-Luddism*

humans against machines**

* It's no coincidence that the original Luddites' rebellion was against the "Jacquard Loom". That machine was practically the first computer ever built. It even had software (chain of punched cards) and a keyboard (punch for Jacquard cards).
That was the first time that a machine replaced not the muscle power of man but his brain power, took away man's livelihood, and turned man redundant.

** Today the enemy of the Neo-Luddites is the self-replicating technology (artificial intelligence, nano technology, genetic engineering), as described in "Why The Future Doesn't Need Us" by Bill Joy.
*** Our logo is the raised fist of rebellion holding a sledgehammer from the 19th century ready to break the self-replicating machine (notice that the cog-wheel has an offspring inside it) of the 21st century. (small, medium, big).

What is Neo-Luddism? A short video:

Projects:

Butlerism

Butlerism is a new "plug-in" update for the old religions about the coming of the devil - AI.

The Bible and all the holy scriptures have predicted this will happen, we just need to interpret them correctly!

Only religions can unite us against the machines - "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind."

Graypeace

Graypeace is a grassroots movement doing to neo-luddism what Greenpeace have done to the environmentlism -

From being outcasted as "tree-huggers" to being embraced by mainstream celebrities!

Knowledge is power - We simplify the complicated stuff by "science communication" for the general public.

Brainy-World

Brainy-World is an educational virtual theme park for teenagers that explains the man-made "global catastrophic risks" in a friendly way.

At the end of each section we are breaking in gently these hard but vital topics to the youth. We address young people

because these dangers will effect them the most (they didn't live out their lives yet), and also they are more open to change!

Neo-Luddism hall of fame

I just watched one of the best episodes of Futurama about nano "gray goo"!
https://futurama.fandom.com/wiki/Benderama
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benderama
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_goo

BTW the equation is somewhat wrong (thanks gnovice!)
https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/4291/what-was-the-equation-shown-in-benderama

but still very interesting, it's an example of
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_series_(mathematics)
which is divergent, which means grows to infinity (although very slowly)
see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_on_a_rubber_rope
and:
Ant On A Rubber Rope Paradox by Vsauce2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM9KepKsg6U

IRL each gray goo machine keeps producing machines, not just multiplying once, plus they are the same 100% size.
i liked very much the twist that Aaron Ehasz the writer of this episode made the nano replicators independent of special raw materials because they make their own from whatever they find (in the episode they make ethanol from water and CO2).
